Iman Kouvalis was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada after her parents migrated from Greece in the late 1960s.  She graduated from the University of Windsor in 2000 with a B.A. in Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering).

In the year 2000, Iman converted to Islam, refocused her energy and talents, and became a coordinator for Muslim youth programs in Windsor.  This bold career move lead to five exciting years in the field of education, where Iman worked as a Teacher, Administrator, and Vice Principal for the Al-Hijra School in Windsor.

While in education, Iman undertook numerous exciting initiatives including: strategic planning for an elementary school, development of a new curriculum, special education programs, development of new policies and procedural structures, public relations, and technological programs.  She also led a team of educators in the opening and operating of a secondary school in Windsor.

Iman thoroughly enjoyed her years in education and received several awards for her outstanding achievements including: The Teacher Recognition award in 2003 and Teacher of the Year awards in 2004 and 2005.  It was through her work in education that eventually turned Iman’s talents towards publishing, graphic design and building her own business.  One of her first projects was to graphically design and field-test a teacher’s guide for grades 5-8.  Iman followed up her successful foray into this new industry by designing book covers, magazines, and catalogs for Muslim clients.  Her most recent publications include: A Teacher’s Guide for the Visitors: Guide and Lessons Prepared by Iman Kouvalis, by Linda D. Delgado “Alternative Careers” – an article published in Islamic Horizons Magazine, Nov./Dec. 2006.

Iman currently is working towards an Islamic degree from the AlMaghrib Institute and is also studying the Arabic language.  She enjoys membership in several local and national organizations including: The Islamic Schools League of America, The Education Staff Development Council of Ontario, The Curriculum Update (for Ontario Educators), The Islamic Writers Alliance, The Islamic Writers Group, and various graphic design organizations.

Iman looks forward to taking her company to new heights by raising the design standard for businesses in our global community.
